This is a very "shippery" post. About Battlestar Galactica.

Come under here - for Starbuck and Apollo fans only...and some mild spoilers...

I haven't had time yet to digest all the various shippery comments about what happened at the Burbank Con this weekend. But these two items definitely gave me some shipper fascination this morning:

BSG forum shipper lapeach had this to say:
Someone before me asked Jamie if he and Katee had many scenes together. He said they hadn't (shoot), but he also said that the ones they had were "significant". (I put the quotes on there)

Someone else asked about whether Lee really love Dee or if she was settling. He said that he thought Lee did, but that there was that something else. He made a few references to love and hitting, but I couldn't really understand him. He said they got to a good place during the year break, but as soon as the fighting started again, they couldn't sustain it.

During Katee's turn at the mike someone asked about Kara's true feelings for Anders. Katee owned up to her opinion changing from time to time. She said it can even change from episode to episode. (By the way, she said she was spending lots of time with Leoben this year) She said that she thinks every man Kara has been "intimate" with has been important to her.

She said that she thinks Lee is the soulmate. Anders is the best friend. She thinks Starbuck feels safe with Leoben (and agrees with many who think that fact is really pretty sick) and she can be her true self with Leoben more than with anyone else.
After so many months of killer hiatus, it's refreshing to ponder this big-picture concept - of all these different men supporting/reflecting the many aspects of Kara Thrace. Rich material, that.  I don't necessarily MIND that we might be seeing much more Kara/Leoben next year then Kara/Lee...even though the former squicks me out.  I understand why it's necessary.  Lee just doesn't figure into her destiny that way.

Bamber had this to say in a Boston Now interview:
I think they were probably meant to be together and in a different situation it would have been a lot more straight forward. They have a lot of baggage and there's a lot of stuff they would have to address and work through, and I think the context of the situation would have to change. I mean, the thing about the whole world of the Galactica is that it's not really conducive to relationships. It's just these snatched moments of passion and release. To sustain a relationship in that frenetic fight for survival and constant reassessment of who you are and where you're going is really hard and I think that's why when they work it's in the moment and it's short lived. Anything more than that is going to take a bit more energy on both there parts...maybe once they settle down on Earth, or wherever their meant to be, it might all pan out (laughing) ... I don't know what the writers are intending, it's been a bit of a loose end for a season and a half now.
Hard-frakking-core pilots and all that.  I suppose some of you will just get worried hearing all the above.  But I see this as both yet another confirmation from Bamber of what we all feel...and an invitation for a galaxy's worth of shipper fanfics, people!

Oh and btw you shippers probably all know this already but here's the sasa_hq post for collecting all things Burbank together.

Viva la ship!

PS - Ah ha!  RDM has finally confirmed once and for all: it's spelled FRAKKING, people.  Not fracking.  Yeah, petty, I know.

All is well in shipper land!

The spec on skiffy is that Kara and Lee have a brief 'reunion' and then go off to fulfill their new roles in the fleet. Lee no longer being in the military frees them from the fraternization/ superior officer angst and sets things up nicely for the second half of S4.

At Dragon*con, Aaron DOuglas put it this way: "Frak is a 4 letter word." He then went on a hilarious rant about how the T-shirts that had a "C" were probably made in China and soon after asked if someone would please shut him up.

It's really good to hear something cheerful on the shipper front :) Takes the mind off just how long we've got to go until the next season.

Out of this whole post, the thing that makes me the happiest is "frakking". Like someone else said, "frak" is a four letter word.
