Something I just noticed...
Jul. 8th, 2007 09:02 amI went to see two films yesterday: RATATOUILLE (fantastic, smart & funny, it's actually a foodies-film disguised as a kids talking animal comedy; highly recommended), and TRANSFORMERS (expectedly mediocre with wonderful 'bot FX and large doses of That Michael Bay Action Stuff).
I'll admit I went to TRANSFORMERS partially to just see the CLOVERFIELD trailer on screen. I watched this teaser online several times, because I find it fascinating - it has a great BLAIR WITCH PROJECT vibe to it. I love it even more because we really don't know very much about the project and can imagine the rest however we like (for now).
Because the online resolution of the trailer is so poor, there is a major detail at the end of the teaser you might miss if you only see it online.
Heh.
Love that.

OK here's the spoiler: right at the end of the trailer, when everyone has poured out onto the street, you see some huge piece of metal come flying onto the street, crashing into people and parked cars. I thought it was a car.
It's not: it's THE RIPPED-OFF HEAD OF THE STATUE OF LIBERTY.

Date: 2007-07-09 07:58 am (UTC)I'm off to see Transformers this Weds with two of my brothers (maybe all three) - it's on the list of films I'm seeing to rave about the special effects, with no expectations on the plot front at all ;)

Date: 2007-07-09 05:16 pm (UTC)Next month I may force myself to see FANTASTIC FOUR, even though I know it will BLOW.
The animation in many parts of RATATOUILLE is pretty incredible too, if you're into that.
