I just found out about this very nifty art salon and benefit, The Most Curatorial Biennial of the Universe, starting this Saturday night in New York:

Apex Art invited curators to submit small artworks by two artists for inclusion in its massive, salon-style show of nearly a 1,000 diverse works. All of the pieces in the exhibition, by artists known and yet unknown, are available for bidding starting at $10. Every penny of proceeds goes to the Robin Hood Foundation of NYC, a nonprofit run by hedge-fund mogul Paul Tudor Jones that tackles urban poverty by funding support programs, from charter schools to soup kitchens and financial service centers. The Robin Hood Foundation distributes a remarkable 100% of its donations directly to the organizations it supports, so when you bid on the artwork, your cash is going directly to combat poverty.

I am going to go...unless the weather report gets better and I end up at the beach all day. But as of now it's not looking good for the beach. Are you in the area? Shall we rendezvous? (Oooh, this will be a first for me...possible f2f with an LJ friend...*g*)

Well I'm in Rhode Island, so I totally COULD go - it's only 3 hours to the city, but not today :) Heehee. If it's up for awhile, maybe I could come down and check it out and we could go for coff-ay! ;)

Have a great day! :)
