I was going to blow off the summertime HBO show FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS.  But then I saw this:

Meanwhile there are more treats in store this summer that I'm looking forward to:

- Reruns of the entire S1 of JERICHO start tonight at 9PM.  I gave up on this show last fall after a couple of eps due to shoddy writing and directing.  It's cheesy, but I like the nuclear-winter theme (sick, eh?), and hey - all those NUTTY fans must be onto something...

- New shows: the one with Holly Hunter (<3 <3 <3), the one with Glenn Close (<3), and this AMC original series MAD MEN, which looks fun.
The new one on Showtime with David Duchovny.

- WEEDS SEASON 3!  W00T!  I just mainlined most of S2 this month via On Demand cable. Niiiiiice.

What are you all getting excited to see this summer?

Oh and here's one for long term view: did you hear there will be a new sitcom this fall starring Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose as sisters?
*squee*  Unfortunately...it's on FOX.  Uh oh.

Most of the YouTube links to this very cool new J.J. Abrams project (written by glorious Lost/Alias/Buffy/Angel writer Drew Goddard) are pulled down by the studio now...but I found one last one up today.  Thanks you enterprising gamers! LOL.

A very cool idea, if this film is indeed shot entirely from the perspective of the hapless humans on the ground, running from a giant deadly  creature wreaking havoc with a huge city.  This teaser reminds me of my favorite scene in Speilberg's WAR OF THE WORLDS, the one where you get your first glimpse of the alien machines - and the camera follows Tom Cruise as he runs like hell and tries not to get blasted into white powder.  An incredible sequence.
