Hoo boy am I tired.  Stayed up way, way too late Wednesday night, reading this live-blogging of the BSG event in Los Angeles at the Cinerama Dome, by a bunch of fans on the skiffy forum.  People are still adding to that thread today, there are a few teeny weeny (whited out) spoilers on there.  LawFairy made this separate mildly spoilery thread to keep the spoiler virgins safe.  VirgoSunLeoMoon came back to the K/L shipper thread and reported back, starting on page 4447.

I'm going to just keep updating the following list of links as I get more:
- IESB has posted video interviews from the red carpet
- (THIS SPACE BEING HELD FOR KRISTIN AT E!'S LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET INTYERVIEWS...hope she used one of my questions!)
- Excellent IGN writeup (with our first glance at photos from inside the theater provided by SciFi)
- Nicely detailed, if a tad too snide, coverage by Moriarty and Hercules at Aint it Cool News
- More on the event from Pros: Kevin at TV Squad, Jace at Film.com...and Fans: dropdeadred, [personal profile] xwacky (Part 1, Part 2).  And even some Pro Fans: White Board Markers. Bootstrap Productions.
-[info]wisteria_ has some WireImage photos up
-[info]dryope just posted a ton more photos.
- IESB has a massive stack of pix up.  (Everyone looks awesome in the pictures, natch.)

Under this cut is a report from my friend who also attended.  No spoilers really.

Well let me go through the bad because the rest is all good.

Gods bless SciFi for setting this event up.  But someone screwed the pooch because NO ONE knew what was going on or when.  Turns out the screening of "Crossroads, Pt. 2" was to start at 6 and the Q&A was at 8.  I was saddened by how many empty seats there were in the Dome when the screening started.  By the time the Q&A got underway nearly every seat was taken.  WHEW!

Outside beforehand a guy was handing out "Frak Off"  tees and the EW flyer that ran a couple weeks ago with the Best SCFi of the last 25 years-Galactica being #2.  The guy handing the stuff out knew the show which was nice.  But he never announced what was going on and no one seemed to know.

E!'s Kristen Veitch who has championed the show (and Veronica Mars and others) was there.  "Hotdog" (Bodie Olmos, EJO's son) came out for a bit and then Admiral Adama came out and gave a talk how honored he was to be on the show.  He also spoke of the first scene he did as Adama in the mini: the "So Say We All" scene and that it was tough and he used that to rouse the cast and the extras.  He then got the whole crowd to join in with him.  He posed for some pics, signed a few autographs and shook a LOT of hands.

Eddie and Kristen (she's cute).

EJO signs a book.

EJO and his son "Hotdog".

The line.

They didn't give us a choice of seating so we were off to the extreme left side.    EJO did an intro and said he was more excited than we were to see it on a big screen and that we were some of the few who would ever get the opportunity to do so-but that the series was so good ALL the eps deserved this treatment.  The crowd was really into it.

After the ep there was a break and then they brought out Lucy Lawless (who was dressed to the nines-I keep forgetting she is a natural blonde).  She was a great moderator.  Ron Moore, David Eick, EJO, Mary McDonnell, Jamie Bamber (so odd to hear him speak in his real English accent) and Katee Sackhoff were greeted with a thunderous standing ovation.

They were all funny and engaging.  They seem genuinely privileged to be on such a fine show, to really enjoy one another and were sad that it was going to end yet pleased it would go out on its own terms.

Probably the funniest moment was when MM was asked if Laura Roslyn and Adama would hook up.  She feigned taking a hit off of a joint and replied "How do you know we already haven't?"

It was terrific evening and another reason I love living in L.A.  There was so much melancholy that the series was ending Ron Moore had to bitch slap everyone and remind the cast and the fans that the end was a long way off.  Eick promised a tremendous ride and felt the season would be the show's best.  One fan pleaded since there were only 20 hours left not to do any stand alone eps-the crowd concurred.

There were a lot of B*G folks in the audience.  Writers, a couple of directors, post folks, etc.  Ron and Dave made them all stand for applause at various points.  A couple ofother actors were there including Mark Shepard who played Baltar's lawyer Romo Lampkin.  Eddie had orchestrated signs (which were on one side of the Reserved Seating signs) and had all the crew hold them up.  They said "More Romo".  At one point Lucy Lawless also expressed interest in appearing again.

They ran a promo for the Pegasus movie called '"Razor" which looks phenomenal.

Many thanks to my friends in fandom for all the info last night and this morning! Fandom rules!

I'm sure there will be more to say later in the week, updates to follow.  I may be able to get   Tee hee now I've got my hands on a (very low fi) audio recording of the entire panel.  Here's where I've posted the 3 MP3's for DL.

Everyone I spoke to said that NBC/SciFi most definitely had cameras there...why not drop them a line asking them to let us have all the footage for fandom please? Like, now (send to feedback@scifi.com & battlestar@scifi.com).  Raw footage is fine, oh great PTB - we'll handle the editing.  *G*

OMG I know. I cannot get enough. Lawless was hilarious, and kept bringing up sex and embarrassing JB & KS in a cute way. McConnell was apparently also really funny. Trying to get us some audio.

I am hearing rumors of a "women in BSG" panel at ComicCon - let's go! I'll tape it, you cut it together in our hotel room that night and we'll post it. Fandom ho! *G*

Yeah and someone talked to Katee's manager last night who said she is confirmed to attend Comicon. So that's RDM, DE, Mark Verheiden, and KS who are definitely going. *g*

our icon has inspired a vid idea

LOL - PEN!VID

You know when Six, Baltar, Lee and Kara all touch the same prop in a season, there is DEFINITELY a plotbunny there. Somewhere. *g*

you're awesome for being so dedicated with bringing your flist such fannish links

Awww shucks. Well it's the least I can do since I'm consuming all the fics, vids and art, and don't have any to offer! It's just what fangirls DO FOR EACH OTHER. *wink*

So...no Comicon for you? What about BSGCon?

Seriously! But nothing beats the sniff. It just makes it, you know?

Blergh. I can't afford to go cross country. But I'll be sending a vid to BSGCon. So let me know if I win something (I didn't go last year either and won). I am, however, going to DragonCon, and Katee Sackhoff is supposed to be there I believe. Maybe Bamber too. Last year was James Callis and I couldn't go. :( *sniff*

Awww...but you saw him and La Helfer at NYComicon right? The panel with Kevin Smith? That was great!

Howdy! *waves* I don't really have any tips/hints except be prepared to wait in lots and lots of lines. Especially for Katee and Bamber. ;)

Apparently it is only a minute long...I would not be surprised if they hold it for Comicon, show it there, then release it to the rest of us on the intertubewebs.

MORE ROMO

I attended the event and am a big Romo Lampkin fan. Actually it's the Lampkin fans that organized the campaign. Mark was surprised at the reception and it was a shock to everyone that Eddy called out for More Romo at the end of the panel discussion. Check out Mark Sheppard's myspace for his reaction to this!
