The first ep of S2 of THE TUDORS is up on Showtime’s website if you just cannot wait.  But apparently that’s an edited version.  Meanwhile, Salon calls the show “beautifully costumed soft porn.”  Yeah? And your problem with that is?

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is starting next week (yay), IN TREATMENT is ending this Friday (boo)…and soon after that my DVR will be overflowing with all the shows coming back from strike-hiatus.  Whoa!

I first heard of this on Bill Maher’s show last Friday: Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank is hoping to get a bill through the house to decriminalize personal pot use in small amounts.  Well.  Good luck with that.  *inhales*

The I <3 TORCHWOOD Department:  Still squeeing over the last 3 eps.  I've seen everything up to the wedding.  Fun stuff!  We Jack/Gwen fans have a lot to love right now – “unstated” or not, it’s CANON bitches.  Terrific eps recently; the show is really proving itself as an adult-themed merger of BUFFY and THE X FILES.  I just caught up with Pop Candy’s podcast interview with Eve “Gwen” Miles, what a sweet lady.   Plus…Marsters returns!  Love!  Currently I am ignoring rumors/spoilers about the show that are swirling around.  But io9.com seems to be hunting them all down, stringing them up, and stuffing them for our amusement, if any of you are looking.  Meanwhile: photos from John Barrowman’s wedding (erm, civil partnership) last year.  Awww.

Zikes, what I wouldn't do to get one of these framed BSG ads that a bunch of (mostly unappreciative) journalists received recently.  Sigh.

OTOH...you might say that this vinyl ad banner I JUST WON ON EBAY, might be a tad better, y/y?  :D

So do any of you have an opinion about the web series SANCTUARY?  Would I like it?  I'm a BSG & FARSCAPE fan, but cannot get into the STARGATE shows.  Yet I am intrigued by the concept that Tapping's character is 157 years old.  Sounds like a merger of ANGEL and THE X FILES.  ;)

I think you'd adore Sanctuary. It's one of those rare things - a good idea, a good tv show, and a surprisingly good business model. I've heard both Amanda Tapping and the creator, Damien... Kindler(?) talk about it, and they love the show and the fans. It's the first show designed to live online, that builds the fanbase right into the show... and it's really good, to boot. You won't regret watching it.

OK...I just watched the trailer on their site. How similar is this show to X FILES and TORCHWOOD? Definitely treading in similar territory from the looks of things.

And yeah, I love the community they've set up there. Much more effective, IMHO, than what QUARTERLIFE was trying to do. Which makes sense, since it's A GEEKIER project. ;)

As far as Sanctuary...I watched the first 3 webisodes and the concept is really cool. It's a weird mix of Angel/X-Files/and Hellboy-ish. I guess, lol. Amanda Tapping's character, besides being 157 years old was also engaged to Jack the Ripper! But her accent is lolish. So if you can get over that...But you know, Scifi picked it up for 13 eps, so it'll prolly get spruced up lots. :)

Yeah, it took a bit more energy to dump that than one would expect! o_O

I am both proud and sort of embarassed that I just spend $200 on that banner. But it is literally a once in a lifetime win. You'll never see those made again, so, WORTH IT!

Now I have another excuse to go to Cons, and try to get most of the cast to sign this sucker. I think that's a task I am not quite up to... :D

OMG 8 more days to BSG...And we'll be able to stream the ep 9 hours early to boot.

Fox's sci-fi drama project Dollhouse from Joss Whedon and 20th has cast four roles - Echo will be played by Eliza Dushku; TAHMOH PENIKETT as the FBI agent; Dichen Lachman and Enver Gjokaj have both been cast as dolls; and Fran Kranz as the brilliant scientist and computer programmer who imprints the dolls with specific memories.

I think the FBI dude is Echo's love interest if I remember correctly...I'll go and investigate...hmmmmm (this gives me hope :-) )
