Battlestar Galactica: Revealed is streaming now on the skiffy official site.  It's a great recap show - Ron Moore & David Eick review the series via its characters, rather than focus on plot points.  A nice choice.  The Kara/Lee shippers will be mighty pleased by the primacy of that here.  I am slightly upset to hear Eick & Moore refer to their own damned show as "soap opera" at one point early on. (?!?)  There's a wonderful section where they give an overview of what each cylon model's habits and characteristics are.

And no one has ever described Gaius Baltar better than Eick does here:

"...Gaius Baltar is the show's libido.  He's equal parts Steven Hawking, Jim Morrison, and the backroom side of Bill Clinton."

:D

It is *so* frustrating being in Canada and thus not being able to stream that. Aargh!

refer to their own damned show as "soap opera"

As a viewer of soap operas, statements like this just tell me that RDM and Eick have no idea of what a soap opera actually is. You'd be surprised how often that happens. (It's a narrative structure, not a codeword for romance. Sigh.)

For me, these references to "soap opera elements" are a part of the tradition of subtly insulting any veins of narrative/drama that women are drawn to. The feminist in me bristles at this every time it's used to refer to anything NOT ACTUALLY a soap opera.

Sigh.
