IN TREATMENT - I am completely enthralled by this show - and hope some of you are watching it. Intense, intimate, real, scary, with many glimpses of actual soul. Incredible cast.  Rodrigo Garcia is the showrunner (and the writer/director of the first few weeks of eps).  Anyone who's ever seen his two feature films will know he is a master of the subtle gesture, the important yet barely noticeable event.  And that he understands how to get a great performance from his actors. You must see it.  And have I mentioned how much Michelle Forbes pwns every scene she's in?  Yeah.

LOST - blowing my mind!  Adore it. I  even enjoyed the much-maligned Juliet ep last week.  For me, Juliet has always been fascinating - and I love, love, love Ben/Others flashbacks that give Ben backstory, and/or recontextualize past events from the Others' POV. Good times. Not only am I gleeful about the prospect of this and BATTLESTAR airing at the same time...hee hee...but I am also mystified by
the prospect of both shows having time anomaly issues. Obviously the Starbuck/BSG one is a lesser plot point, while in LOST it seems to have become the center of the show in S4.  But still.  It occurs to me that some of you might not understand the BSG reference here...one of the clips leaked by some anonymous mystery man of Thrace/Lee/Anders (see here, just after the new S4 intro tag) mentions that Starbuck's perception of how long she's been gone differs MIGHTILY from that of the ragtag fleet. So there's that.
Fun!

TORCHWOOD - Uneven as always, but I love it! The good ones are so, so good. ADAM was my favorite ep so far this season (that's the one about memory). Very much enjoyed this week's ep (here in the USA that was the one where that glove gets used)...and continue to hope those oddball rumors about the show's future are wrong. I want my TW to remain as it is.

BREAKING BAD - Liked, not loved.  The last ep was this past Sunday...wonder if it'll get renewed.  Were any of you watching?  The final scene of the 2nd to last ep, when "Mr. Clean" Walt threatened a buildingful of murderous homeys with his magical chemistry, was amazing.

I don't watch THE WIRE...but I was truly impressed by this superbly classy piece the writers did for TIME MAGAZINE.  Word.

I have seen a few episodes of In Treatment, prepared to be annoyed as I am the vast majority of the time a therapist is portrayed in popular media. I was so pleasantly surprised. It isn't perfect, but it has a certain authenticity to it-- it captures the feel of therapy very well I think. As I watched it, it felt like a session to me, and I showed my husband who is always curious about my work as a psychologist but of course can never see me in action.

Well now, that seems like a glowing review, coming from an actual therapist. Right?

I love the way this story is unravelling - with different session each night, leading to Fridays. Also fascinating to me is how the show investigates the differences between what Paul does from Monday-Thursday...and what he tells Gina on Friday. Inside those differences, is something big trying to reveal itself to the viewer.

I've rarely seen a show that so rewards careful, intelligent viewers.

I love In Treatment! Brilliant and subtle and every Sophie episode absolutely *kills* me. (Ooh, I didn't know about Rodrigo Garcia's prior work. I'd heard good things about those films, but I didn't realize the connection. Thanks!)

*cough* You should watch The Wire, even though it just ended. It was phenomenal.

Right there with you on Lost...completely frakking with my mind!!! And the whole Ben/Juliet/Jack thing is just ...so...Ben is so CRACKED! And yet brilliant!

TW - I loved Adam...such a great episode! I'm with you, still living in denial about any such weird rumors!

Wednesday is my favorite day and gets me EVERY. TIME. I'm so glad Michelle's role has expanded as of late. She's phenomenal...actually, the whole cast is fantastic.

Yeah Wed's are fantastic, that girl playing Sophie is knocking it out of the park every week. Intense. I love this stuff with her dreams, the models, the photo book. Creepy.

And Forbes is so incredible. Last Friday was just too intense! Killed me.

why did no one warn me to not get attached to Wild Bill on Deadwood?!

Heheheheh you didn't want to be spoiled now, did you? :D

Gods I miss that motherfuckin' cocksuckin' show. Sigh. Now you see why I was trying to will John From Cincinnati into being a better show, right? :D

I LOVED when Walt did whatever he did in that scene! :) I really, really loved the first 3 episodes of the show, after that, I still like it but I'm not crazy about it. I hope it comes back, I'd like to see more.

I didn't make that connection, about bsg and lost and time all messed up. Cool!

I know, just fantastic. The final scene of the finale was also great...I guess I just love it when Walt is using chemistry to PWN LIFE. *g*
