You're Beautiful
Apr. 26th, 2007 09:54 amGods I just do not want to go to the office today.
Kottke.org helped me find my way to La Blogoteque's Takeaway Shows - little bits of magic you can DL and put in your pocket. I particularly loved this ephemeral beauty from The Arcade Fire.
Endlessly inquisitive and helpful BSG fans have tracked down a live performance of the Philip Glass piece Metamorphosis (used as Starbuck's father's piece - Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5), and a whole lot of interview bits from the past year or so on Galactica.TV. Also BSG Cast has posted a 2 part analysis of BSG Season 3 (Part 1, Part 2). Thanks fandom! You're a good bud.
Meanwhile, back in the RL: issues close to my heart are bubbling up in the New York Times this week:
- the amazing writer Michael Pollan discusses the US farm bill and what it means for the American food chain
- If you've already gone organic, whole foods, and fair trade, there is another level of food consumer/green lifestyle awareness you probably haven't considered yet. The NYT takes a look at the Eat Local movement. Little did I realize that Barbara Kingsolver was involved! *squee*
- more on the honeybee's global Colony Collapse Disorder
What kind of art is Film? I am interested in this discussion, but will have to read and ponder this later - time to go. BBL.
