No. Single.

2) What was your dream growing up?
Become Princess Leia…or Spock. *g*

3) What talent do you wish you had?
Novelist, film director, or the political skills to rise the ladder at work better than I did.

Scotch

5) Favorite vegetable?
Brocolli, carrots, sweet potatoes.  (Does garlic count?)

Real Food by Nina Planck.

Taurus

8) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.
Just a single set of ear lobe piercings.  I’m not big on the adornments.

9) Worst Habit?
Nail biting and dressing too casually.

10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride?
When I had a car, for the first and only time ever back in L.A. a few years ago, probably not cuz nobody picks up strangers.  But I’d have to say that would depend on the situation.

11) What is your favorite sport?
Ping pong, thumb wrestling.  (Does cat herding count?)

12) Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude?
I like to think of myself as snarkily optimistic.

14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
While I was going through the biggest (romantic) breakup of my life, my mother’s sort-of-ex-boyfriend attacked her.  He was imprisoned, and I had to rush to the state she lived in to help her quickly relocate.  To top it all off, the guy I was breaking up with was on the frakking plane with me, sitting right next to me, flying to meet my mother.  Because we’d bought the tickets together before the breakup.

15) Tell me one weird fact about you.
Right now, I am worried that I spend way too much time with online virtual friends and not enough in the meatspace with, erm, meatier friends…

16) Do you have any pets?
Yes, a kitty.

19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary?
Scary!

20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
Go from a size 14 to a size 8 without losing too much of my boobs.

22) What was it that brought you onto livejournal as a signed-in member?
Fan fiction at first...but also icons and fanart/fanvids in general.  It always seems such a well-read, geek-heaven sort of place to hang out.  Also quite civilized and pretty spoiler-free.

23) Ever been arrested?
No.  But I had a boyfriend in college who went out one day to buy some milk and cigs and ended up in the gorramed slammer for shoplifting.  Frakking idiot.

24) Bottle or can soda?
Water, tea or coffee thanks.

25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?
Buy a weekend escape cottage in the woods or near the beach.

Home.

Read (mainly online these days)…blog…watch shows…chat w/pals.

I believe that matter and energy take on many forms…and that what we humans call “god” is part of the energy cycle on this planet.  Something is definitely “out there.”  But it’s not a He, not Our Creator, and it doesn’t sit in judgement of us.

Wanderer.

You're so lucky to live somewhere where you can bike around. I'd be KILLED here in new york city. LA would have been even scarier. I lived in Amsterdam once for a year...sooo fun to bike all around.

Be a lawyer. My dad used to read a lot of John Grisham books to relax, and when I was around 8/9 I started reading them too and from that point on, I wanted to be a lawyer. I kind of forgot about it, but now I'm majoring in Criminology and I take a lot of law (related) courses..so I guess it was fate after all ;)

Play the violin.

Wow..it's been about four years (not all on this account though). All the cool people at the time had an LJ, and I got an invite and well, I never left!

Oh boy. Invest in stocks, probably. I've always wanted to that because it's like gambling without being completely uncertain and $5000 would be a great starting capital. I'd spend the rest of it on clothes, dvds..stuff.

Bagels & Beans, a coffee/bagelshop in Amsterdam.

I don't know, but I'm scared of them, so I guess? I don't like walking in the dark..

If you’re going to ever see some Marilyn films, please, please, go in chronological order if you can, and make sure you include Asphalt Jungle, All About Eve, Niagra, The Seven Year Itch and Some Like It Hot. Great stuff!

So you’re in A’dam eh? I lived there for
about a year once in the late 90s. Loved it. Is that amazing old Art Nouveau movie theater still standing? I loved that…and the falafel place across the street from it, with the gigantic self-service condiment bar. Bagels & Beans sounds like a place I used to go there, that was the only place in A’dam that had bagels. I wonder if that’s it.

My gods, you’ve been on LJ for 4 years, and “all the cool people” had it when you were 14???? I’m impressed. *g*

Since I'm well...shall we say I am A LOT OLDER THAN 18, can you tell me something. About your BSG fandom...how long have you been a fan, how did that happen? Do they broadcast the show on TV in Holland, or do you have to DL it or buy the disks? I find this fandom stuff very interesting, hearing everyone's stories.

Thanks for the recs! And yes, I live in A'dam. Tuschinski (the theater) is still here! And Maoz, the falafel place, is also still here, haha. I love them, their falafels are so good. Bagels & Beans has been around since '94 I think so there's a good chance you ever been there!

Yeah, well, cool people, in retrospect they weren't so cool. There used to be this Dutch Facebook-like website, and it used to be kind of alternative (people listening to rock/metal music etc) and most of them had LJ and since LJ used to be exclusive with the invite codes and all I really wanted one, haha. :D

Oh boy. I've only been a BSG fan since..late November 07, I think. Right now older episodes are being broadcast in Holland, but only on paid channel. My friend used to watch it and I totally made fun of him 'cause I thought it was supercheesy like Star Trek but then I heard some really good things, and I downloaded the miniseries and I was seriously hooked. It's so perfect, really. I have to download everything, but I bought the first two seasons on dvd.

I really hope they're going to air S4 here, but I don't mind downloading.

Where did you live in A'dam, and why?

I lived in A'dam from late 1997 to late 1998. Almost a year. I was working for a US-based record label & concert tour management company. They had their European office in A'dam - in an apartment down the block from the Anne Frank House in the Joordan. I lived in this apartment, and worked there...till I couldn't take it anymore because 1) they paid us like we worked at McDonalds and 2) their business plans were not working out, which made the job too difficult. But I went to several countries, rode tons of European trains (love!), and got to the Cannes and Rotterdam Film Festivals while I lived there. Awesome.

I have a lot of great memories of the city though. The quality of life there was very good compared to New York or LA. Would love to come visit again sometime.

I'd be pleasantly surprised but suggest to have a drink in my fave bar (or café) because my flat most likely is a mess.

Friendly, smart, with lots of interests.

Super scary, I mean, I watch horror movies...

My legs, I have very muscular calves (my mum calls them "soccer legs") and all those pretty knee high boots don't fit me at all.

So you’re in Hamburg eh? It is a thrill to me, how INTERNATIONAL the fandom is on LJ. I love it. I think I found you via Angel/BtVS fandom, right? Think so. How long have you been loving the Jossverse? Did they air the shows when they were on here in the USA, or did you catch up on DVD/reruns? I always hear that ATS and BtVS are broadcast around the world now in syndication.

No, not at all. It was over so quickly, I barely noticed it.

How long have you been loving the Jossverse?
I was a bit late to the party, I think it was mid S2 of Buffy, shortly before Angel turned to Angelus (and the whole storyline confused the hell out of me, LOL) - and they showed the seasons dubbed in German, about a year after they had been aired in the US.

Yeah, I think it was the Jossverse fandom. Or maybe even BSG, I used to watch it until S3.

I think it was mid S2 of Buffy, shortly before Angel turned to Angelus (and the whole storyline confused the hell out of me, LOL) - and they showed the seasons dubbed in German, about a year after they had been aired in the US.

Well I got into BtVS/ATS even later. A friend invited me over one night to hang out, and we ended up watching this show which I later figured out was season 2 or 3 mid-season ATS. I remember my first impression - dialogue that was unlike anything I'd heard on TV before. Young pretty cast full of monsters and lost souls, yummy. It was obviously unique. I began coming over to my friend's house every week with other fans to watch BtVS and ATS. Totally hooked.

But I was behind - on both shows. One day soon after that the local TV in California started re-running BtVS from the very beginning. They showed eps every day of the week for like 6 months until it was completely caught up. I taped every single one and watched them all.

My roommates HATED ME. *g*

And a fandom was born.

I can imagine - luckily I lived alone when I was finally watching S5-7 of Buffy last spring (I had stopped watching BtVS in S4 because all characters I really loved were on AtS anyway at that time) - usually 6-7 episodes/night ;)

No. But I am *this* close to making a Match.com profile that says something to the likes of: Want male scifi fanboy who loves to stay home chillaxing and watching BSG.

2) What was your dream growing up?
To be famous I guess. I always wanted to be the super cool person who gave an Oscar speech thanking the geeks on the interwebs. "I'd like to that my LJ flist! Without you guys this wouldn't be possible."

3) What talent do you wish you had?
Musical talent. My dad once gave me some sort of musical ear test when I was super tiny and he said I failed. So my parents never bothered. But I always wanted to be a female drummer. And once I was told that I looked like someone who plays guitar and it made my face sad. :(

4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
Jeez. That changes depending on the bar menu. I certainly enjoyed the champagne martini I had the other day. But usually it's something simple like a whiskey and coke or a beer. ;)

Cabbage. All the way. I love that shit.

Guh. Been reading "Stranger in a Strange Land" for a year now. It's awesome. I <3 Heinlein.

Well bottled soda reminds me of Russia as well as gives off the pleasant vibes of 50's Americana. Plus it tastes better. These are trufax. But I'm more of a coffee drinker.

Pay off like a tiny portion of my student loans. *headdesk* Yeah, total lame answer but I'd jump on the opportunity to do that. Frakking NYU.

Oh btw I just watched THE GOLDEN AGE last night. Wow. I know it didn’t do as well as they’d hoped, but I really hope they do the third one. What a fascinating life. The end scene just floored me. Awesome. Truly one of the top 3 best looking (cinematography/prod design) films of last year.
