In addition to the scrillions of other TV & film panels at Nerdvana this year, there is a possible DOC WHO/TORCHWOOD  panel on Thursday midday, according to a commenter in this post.

You can ask the one-and-only JOHN WATERS questions, via PopCandy, until tomorrow.

As part of the publicity for GET SMART, the Apple Store Soho taped Stephen Colbert interviewing Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway!!!!!!!!!! If Apple does what they usually do, this interview will go up on iTunes shortly in the Podcast section. Keep an eye on this URL: "Filmmaker Talks: Get Smart". If that link isn't working for you, go to Podcasts --> TV & Film --> Filmmaker Talks: Get Smart. Wheeeeee! <3 <3 <3

Very soon this movie THE WACKNESS is opening.  I saw it at the Tribeca Film Festival, it was really sweet, funny, well done.  Check it:

"Have you gone to an art house lately? Some screens are literally the size of the flat screens people have in their living rooms right now," Mr. Atkinson said, referring to the shrinking marketplace for independent films. "For those people who are searching for films made for adults, there's almost no reason to go to the theater anymore. It's reaching the point where there will be six big movies released a year, all made for a half-billion dollars, that everyone will see on a single day, and other than that, people will just stay home and watch Netflix. It's already happening."

I just updated my comments about BATTLESTAR GALACTICA's "Revelations" with some more coherent thoughts, and would love to hear what you guys have to say, if you feel like jumping back a few posts to re-read. There's also a cool frame grab...

Gods that was great TV. For various reasons, it makes we want to post these two quotes:

“I want the audience to work. I ask them to see the film from the beginning and devote their full attention to it, treating it with the same respect they would give a painting, a symphony or any other work of art.
I treat them with the same respect by inviting them to search for their own meanings instead of insulting their intelligence with obvious explanations.”
– Michelangelo Antonioni

to be let loose in the world."

So my friend has this hobby site AdamaForPresident and makes these adorkable tee shirts in the Obama campaign fonts.

Since recent events involving Leeland Adama have transpired, and Obama has locked the nom, we decided it was time to try to get some of these babies to the BSG set in Vancouver.  We succeeded this week.

Today my pal who makes the shirts got a message on his Facebook:

XXXXXX sent you a message.

Subject: Adama '08 shirt

"I just thought you'd like to know that I work on Battlestar and this morning at breakfast Jamie Bamber was wearing the Adama '08 shirt.  So I guess your care package is being enjoyed!"

HEHEHEHEHEEEE

I just watched the 4.0 BSG finale before running to the office. Ha.

Miniscule notes scribbled while viewing under here )

Updated now with a few more coherent ramblings... )

Some friends of mine who followed the spoilers are now saying they wish they hadn't...

I was spirginal and proud and LOVED THE EP.

I decided to test out my lovely little brand new Flip Mino vidcam by taping the assembly of my favorite fruit crumble recipe from 101 Cookbooks.   In this version I'm using nectarines/raspberries instead of peaches/plums; also substituting agave syrup for the sugar in the filling, and olive oil for the melted butter in the topping.

While I was at it, I also tried out the fun new YouTube feature for video annotating...et voila: here's the annotated version...

And here's the non-annotated version (apparently you can't embed it):

(Note this video is silent too...)

This recipe works with just about any fruit you prefer to bake this way...it's almost vegan, except for the yogurt.  Bon appetit!
proggrrl: (Colbert BRAVO!)
HULU is now broadcasting full eps of THE DAILY SHOW and THE COLBERT  REPORT...

Rejoice!

Here is last night's TCR bbs --

[HT techcrunch: game over, hulu wins.]

ETA for you TCR junkies: looks like No Fact Zone is collecting vid embeds of the "Global Edition" segments Colbert tapes for the international broadcasts.

STOP EATING FARMED SALMON.

This is huge if you care about wild fish populations worldwide.

I'm going to tell my local fish sellers about this.  You should too if you eat lots of fish.

Oh if only I could open up the Google News reader and see this.  LOL.

(Especially the Entertainment Section. Ha.)

I liked it. Did you watch? I'll give it some time, I'm curious to see if they can pull this off on network (ie, censoring the sexy bits).

It's dancing in that area between THE ICE STORM, BOOGIE NIGHTS and AMERICAN BEAUTY.  A rich vein of ore to mine to be sure.

Everything pivots around Molly Parker.  The cast is excellent.  The music, naturellement, is sexy and perfect and is, on a show like this, one of the most important parts.

ETA: Here's the first episode...

proggrrl: (A series of Tubes?!?)
Before I start braindumping, can I just say...Wow. And, THANK GODS THAT IS OVER. Whew!

I just went a little crazy on Amazon and bought a Flip Video Mino and Metrokane V1 Vacuum Decanter...so be on the lookout for more drunken video posts from me this summer. :D

Now if I can just restrain myself from dropping another fortune over on this insanely cool movie-tee site, I'll get through the month. Seriously though...how can I live without that USCSS NOSTROMO one? Or this one?

PopWatch is right: The Black Cab Sessions are the best thing anyone's going to show you today. (BTW if you liked those, you MUST take a gander at The Blogotheque Takeaway Shows...my personal favorite is this one by The Arcade Fire.)

There is so much TV news pumping out involving great creative minds that it's a bit hard to keep track... let's see, we've got a Spielberg/Cody/Collette project... a Scorcese/Wahlberg/Winter project*... a bit more on the latest David Milch HBO project... Sundance Channel doing the first possibly-worth-my-time reality show... the GREY’S ANATOMY writers blog: you’ve been reading this all season haven’t you?... (finally) the debut of the Treehugger.com-curated green cable channel... ALL OF THE "TWIN PEAKS" TV SHOW NOW ONLINE FREE OF CHARGE...zowie!

[* So if you’re keeping track of that one, it involves the guys who brought you IN TREATMENT and ENTOURAGE, an excellent writer/director from THE SOPRANOS team…and Marty. Fucking. Scorcese. That is all.]

On to the first bit of my summer TV show watching…is anyone else going to give SWINGTOWN a try? I am intrigued. How the hell can they do 'ludes, partner-swapping and orgies on network TV?!?

Here’s the trailer under a cut…groovy baby… )
