I haven't been to the Met in ages! That all sounds so cool that I might have to get myself down there and see. The Studio Craft Show sounds really great. That IS after all what I do! :)
I've never seen that Klimt but as soon as I saw it I thought it had to be. I went to Vienna back in college and we were so disappointed that most of the Klimt's were out on tour. It was so sad. Rudolf Stingel, wow so very cool. I like the Styrofoam ones but I'm sure the wallpapers are amazing in person. I'm sure they are all amazing. Thanks for all the artistic food for my brain!!
I would love to see those Calder's. He is truly amazing.
And how exciting that you mention Kara Walker because I you know what? I know her! She was in grad school when I was in undergrad and she was dating one of my teachers (different department) and they got married. It's very cool to see someone achieve so much recognition and be able to say that she is actually a really nice person. Of course a few people I know said her speech at graduation a few years ago was kinda weird.
:) Thanks for sharing. this was truly inspiring! :)
