OK F-List! For the record...

...I haven't seen FIREFLY yet because I started to watch it when it aired, didn't really get into it (I think it was the western-genre elements, my mood at that time...and not yet realizing I have a TV Boyfriend Crush on Nathan Fillion).  And now it's on a long, long list of TV Shows I Must Must Must Catch Up With On DVD.

Yes, I know, I know it's great.  And yes, I WILL WATCH IT THIS YEAR. I promise!!!  I just finished LA FEMME NIKITA, I'm currently doing FARSCAPE, I also have to get through BABYLON 5, XENA, and a few other things.  But I promise. *g*

Meanwhile, I hope you all will be seeing STARDUST this weekend here in the states.  It's a delightful fantasy adventure, very much geared to ADULT minds.  An utter rarity.  If you liked PRINCESS BRIDE and/or THE ADVENTURES OF BARON MUNCHHAUSEN (and of course HARRY POTTER), you will enjoy this too.

Also opening this weekend: 2 DAYS IN PARIS, written/directed/starring Julie "BEFORE SUNSET/BEFORE SUNRISE" Delphy (and those are her real parents in the film, too).

Oh and here's my nag for the day: try, try your hardest, to minimize your use of plastic bags. Blech.

Happy Friday!

You aren't the only one! I've watched most of Firefly (I think I still have the last disc to go) but I only watched it within the last year. And I've never seen Farscape or Buffy. I watched some Xena when it was on, but not avidly and I watched Nikita when it was on too, but probably not from the beginning. I do want to see Stardust :D Ooh and must look for 2 Days in Paris! :)

Enjoy your friday, I'm heading to the eye doctor and the chiropractor in a bit. oh joy! :)

OMG the hotness that you are missing! On both sides of the spectrum too, so which ever way you roll you'll have something to drool over.

[Not to mention the incredible storytelling of Joss Whedon and the wonderful acting of the cast who I really do respect.]

Yes, it's getting very hard to resist when everyone keeps telling me that they are the greatest shows. So someday soon! I just need to find the TIME. :D

Well you simply MUST watch Buffy. Nuff said. And watch it BEFORE Firefly, IMHO.

FARSCAPE is good, not BSG-good, but good. Ben Browder is adorkable!

Hope your doc appointments went OK...

I know, I know! When I visited [livejournal.com profile] jcathm, she did her best to get me addicted to Buffy, she did good, I def want to watch it now, but I've watched most of Firefly already so watching the last few is much more realistic than all seasons of Buffy :) But someday! :) I really like Claudia and Ben on SG1 even though they have little interaction, I think I'd like them together a lot. If they had such great chemistry together it doesn't make sense why they didn't utilize that on SG1. Ah well.

Doctors were good thanx :) One eye actually went down in prescription! That's never happened before and the other was the chiropractor and I'm feeling much better now :)

How far are you in Farscape? I've only gotten thru season one, can't wait to get my hands on the rest! :D

I am up to ep 10 in S2. LOVING IT. Though the music is cheesy, and the muppets still bug me. A little. But the show is so clever, emo and foxy... <3

Teevee

My advice would be to skip Farscape and B5 and go straight to Xena. I'm a huge scifi fan and gave both of those shows a fair shot. Except for the makeup B5 was just abysmal.
The writing and especially the acting are unbearable.
Farscape was just OK and didn't make the cut list with all of the other shows I watch.

Except for the Ted Raimi eps, Xena is pretty great.

Can't wait for Xena...but I'm way to involved now in Farscape to stop. Pretty much liking it, despite all the muppets. *g*

Glad you are enjoying Farscape. For a while, I thought I had to nag you about it. Tried very hard to supress the urge. Hee!

Looks like you are getting to the good part, too. Woo and hoo!

How do you like Chiana? (The muppet eventually grew on me. Imagine!)

[identity profile] proggrrl.livejournal.com 2007-08-12 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I adore Chiana...(she and Crighton make quite a pair *g*)...I'm so into the show now that even DARGO is starting to look good to me. !!!

Actually, all kidding about muppets aside - the Henson shop really blows my mind. I know the producers have said that part of the reason they set up the show this way was to show off all the amazing things their studio craftsmen can do. They really are quite impressive.

I'm actually curious to see what they decide to come up with for these new webisodes (which I'm assuming will be about Sun/Crighton's son, since that'll keep their budget low *g*).

I'm up to ep 10 of s2 now...the body-switching ep was great, natch! And I also really enjoyed the S2 ep where they delve into how Pilot got "installed" inside Moya. Excellent ep.

If DARGO is looking good to you, then, yes my friend, you are a leettle obssessed with the show. ;-)

The muppet stuff is quite extrodinary, but I hear that's also the reason for the high budget of this series. Nonethelss, I like the whole look of that show. Who knew space could be so purty?!

S2E10 is a good place to be. The body-switching episode is hilarious! And there will be some very good (read: dramatic, angsty) televison coming your way. I loved S2 because not only is it good, it also paves the way to S3, which is GREAT!

I am not going to spoil you, but can't wait to hear what you think of the upcoming eps.

*rubs hands together*

Oh goody! I cannot wait. Actually, I *CAN* wait - cuz I have all this darned FIREFLY sitting on my tivo at the moment and I may take a Scape break to watch it all...

BTW if you're around tonight come to the K/L thread...THEY-WHO-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED isn't around tonight! Miss you...
