Bionic Anatomy
Jul. 16th, 2007 09:32 amWow, what a day for a TV fangirl.
First, Sci-Fi announces BSG "mini-sodes" and a return of FARSCAPE.
And now: Isaiah Washington will guest star on BIONIC WOMAN?
What's next? A LA FEMME NIKITA movie directed by Joss Whedon with guest appearances by Ian McShane and Jamie Bamber?
*head explodes a little*

On a side note -- I hope you don't mind this -- I've been watching HBO's John from Cincinnati per your rec. and I am really digging it. It's my favorite show right now so thanks for the 411. I haven't researched it on IMDB yet but it's obviously connected -- maybe created? -- by the same powers that be that did Deadwood. I've spotted five Deadwood alum so far and the dialogue is almost identical. Very complex and interesting.

Date: 2007-07-16 02:32 pm (UTC)RE JfC...yes, David Milch created this show, and he also created DEADWOOD. He is the Ron Moore of these shows - head writer and showrunner and one of the producers. It's his baby. If you want a closer look at why I love this guy, just get your hands on the S1 DEADWOOD DVDs and find the featurette interviews with Milch - they are a kick! He's brilliant.
Much like David Chase, the guy who created The Sopranos, Milch is a guy who slaved away in the land of TV writing for like 20 years and HBO then let him go wild and do his own thing - without the crushing weight of network censorship, to boot.
Meanwhile I'm so glad you like JfC. It's a slow building show, but the writing is just so fun. And yeah, he's got a ton of his favorite character actors in there from DEADWOOD. *glee*

Date: 2007-07-16 07:22 pm (UTC)Wow.
I would watch Farscape if it was just them eating cereal around a table. The show was incredible. More Claudia Black!
(But why would anyone want to work with Isaiah Washington...? Oh well.)

Date: 2007-07-16 08:09 pm (UTC)RE Washington - everything that's happened sucks of course, and I wish he hadn't done it, then done it again, then handled the whole thing a tad poorly. But I'm a fan of the guy, he's a fine actor, and I'm sticking to that.
