Michael Taylor
Nov. 14th, 2007 10:17 amMaureen Ryan is giving us all one last chance to ask questions to BSG writer/producer Michael Taylor.
Apparently she's running her inty next week. I asked the following; we'll see what happens!
Apparently she's running her inty next week. I asked the following; we'll see what happens!
"Since Michael Taylor's name is on the scripts for two of my favorite season 3 eps, UNFINISHED BUSINESS and TAKING A BREAK FROM ALL YOUR WORRIES, I feel I need to unload my "shipper" questions on him. Here they are...
Regarding the past shows:
- What did E.J. Olmos's direction bring to TAKING A BREAK that you hadn't already structured in the script?
- RE the eps you wrote, or any other eps this past season, what details did you see in the finished eps that suprised and/or delighted you?
- Fans of "the love polygon" from S3 like myself, have heard many, many things about scenes that were cut for time in UB & TAB involving these four characters (Starbuck/Apollo/Anders/Dualla). Have you heard anything about this material being included on the S3 DVDs coming in the spring?
Regarding the future:
- As stated above, I really enjoyed "the love polygon" plotlines this past season. In fact I enjoy all the emotional/romantic entanglements of ALL characters on the show, as part of knowing them. But a lot of fans (or at least a vocal minority) have complained that season 3 was too "soap opera." Has there been any sort of feeling in the writers room that it is time to pull away from showing those sorts of relationships in such detail in season 4?
- What has been your biggest inspirations when creating material for this show? (I'm talking about books, film, and TV...but I suppose that is just the tip of the iceberg.)"
