LOVE is not a strong enough word
Apr. 30th, 2007 07:51 am...to express how I feel about JON STEWART. It is beyond language.
"Bill Moyers Journal" interview with Stewart - the real Jon
I have been watching The Daily Show since the primary season of 2000. Happening upon the show one night while channel-surfing (back in the pre-DVR days when I still did that LOL), I lucked out and found myself in the midst of one of Mo Rocca/Steve Carrell/Stephen Colbert's sessions at the Republican primary fracas in New Hampshire. While surrounded by a sea of "real journalists," John McCain gamely answered Mo's question about Metallica's origins or some nonsense. I laughed till I cried and never turned the show off.
Seven years later, McCain and this show are still engaged - notice the changes?
This interview gives particular insight into the genius behind the Daily Show/Colbert Report brilliance - in a manner Stewart rarely puts on the table. I simply cannot imagine current cultural life in this country for those of us who watch cable television, without Stewart, Colbert et al.
PS - OMG - can you imagine Moyers as a corresponent on T.D.S.? Zoinks.
