Tidbits off the grid today...

DO NOT CLICK THIS ONE if you are not able to handle a very very depressing DW/TORCHWOOD rumor.  Let's hope these frakkers are wrong, wrong, wrong!  Oy.  *worry face*
ETA: [personal profile] hollywoodgrrl assures me that long-term DOCTOR WHO fans consider this source a complete fail.  Let's hope so.

This link is for the CLOVERFIELD/JJ Abrams/monster fans out there...of the usual head-stratchingly WHAAAA?-inducing variety.  Love it. (Meanwhile how geekedly cute is this photo! LOL)

Take that TW rumor with a boatload of salt. That source is known for massive failure when it comes to reporting. ;)

The TW rumor would just so totally SUCK. My dad is convinced the BBC keeps its costs down by regularly replacing its lead actors. The DW one doesn't surprise me so much and I remember how upset I was to see CE go and I did get over that.

I kinda figured David would leave after the specials even though I hope it's not true. And I don't know why they would make TW more family friendly, if it's getting viewers the way it is.

Omg if the Cloverfield sequel has to do with alien space stuff I'll be all over it. I'm going to keep thinking of "FTWSPACE/following the white space" as "for the win space". hehe

It would break my heart to see any of them go...but,I can almost *believe* the Doctor Who info (as the Doctor always changes)...but, why water down a show that is kicking butt as is both here and in the home country?

Hmmmm...very fishy, there. Blowfishy driving a nice sportscar, if you ask me. *nods*

Heh, Bad Robot really have mastered getting internet fans worked up as a form of advertising. Whatever it is they're doing, I think I'll end up watching it... Although I'm just waiting for the April Fool moment when it turns out to be anonymous fans playing with people.

I don't really believe those TW rumors (I mean that would be a really stupid thing for the TW makers to do...) - but if they were true, that would make me stop watching it. I actually watch it for the adult content and those characters...

Me too, for sure! Yeah this definitely belongs in the 'if it ain't broke DON'T FIX IT' department.

Well hollywoodgrrl responded above in this thread to say that their source is known in DW fandom to be wrong a lot. *crossing fingers*

IKR! The funniest thing about these 'rumors' is that even if they are completely wrong - even if that site has nothing to do with anything - the Bad Robot fandom is so tweaked by all the previous ARG stuff that they keep buzzing about it anyway.

I know from other sources that the 2nd Cloverfield movie is certainly not dead, so that part of the post is wrong. Krikey - JJ himself even said so less than a month ago. And really, if you were Paramount, and you spend a measly $20M on a flick and it grossed $70M...really, what would you do? *g*

No brainer.
